This is a special piece within a series of paintings dedicated to my mother, Karen Nevitt. She left this world very suddenly this past December. My father and I have been healing by creating. Most days, Richard (her husband of over 53 years) also joins me in the studio as I have now taken on the role of caregiver alongside my sister. He needs extra support while navigating life with Alzheimer’s. My dad taught many students over a career spanning 30 years at the Ontario College of Art and Design. All proceeds of this collection will go back to my dad, his care, love of coffee and art materials so he can continue painting.
